Troia Resort
Localizado na península de Tróia, junto ao oceano, o projecto Tróia Resort resultou de um concurso para a criação de um conjunto habitacional de turismo de elite, baseado num programa ambicioso de 300 fogos, valorizando a inovação e a relação com a envolvente directa. Recurso a uma arquitectura de linguagem contemporânea dirigida a um mercado de segmento alto.
Com quatro tipologias de habitação, apartamentos, praia, lago e golfe, concebi uma estratégia modular, de modo a adaptar o design as diferentes orientacoes solares e relacoes com a envolvente. Este sistema de módulos, aplicado em posicoes distintas consoante os factores singulares de cada lote, originam diagramas de implantação diferentes na forma mas idênticos na essência.
Com um prazo apertadissimo, ficou a meu cargo a estratégia conceptual do projecto, bem como o desenvolvimento da "casa do lago". Foi um projecto muito aliciante, com um resultado muito satisfatório em tão curto prazo, e galardoado com o prémio para melhor projecto de concurso de toda a empresa, para o ano de 2005.
Located on the Tróia Peninsula, in south-west Portugal, the Tróia Resort project was the result of a high quality residential resort competition, based on an ambitious program of 300 dwellings. Our strategy was focused on the relation to the natural surroundings and an innovative contemporary language, towards a high segment market.
With four different house types, apartment, beach, lake and golf, I design a modular strategy, in order to adapt the desired spatial principles to plots with different environmental factors. This originated a diversity of diagrams, different in shape, but similar in its essence.
With a short deadline, I was responsible for the conceptual strategy, as well as the development of the "lake house". This was a thrilling "4 days" project, with a satisfactory result in such a short period, and rewarded with the company's award for the best competition project for 2005.

Here I sketch the storyboard of 2 characters, trapped in my body and linked to the world through my senses. They control my brain in a constant search for life waves, the eternal energy that feeds their souls.
Gummavitta is the explorer, the architect and the scientist. He searches the hemispheres of the earth, the mind and the human condition.
Mummagumma is the traveler, the painter and the dancer who collects Gummavitta´s experiences and memories and applies them to achieve connections. Connections with himself, which means you and I, us and them.
