Looking from the third floor of the MIT Clinic
.
........I'm waiting for Kat on Monday afternoon. Tuesday evening I worked
a bit into the kind of shorthand notes typical of my first stage in watercolors.
I'm always amused by the number of chimney or ventilation stacks on tops
of MIT buildings. Shorthand for stacks would have been a sequence of dots
where the tops are. Grass and greens of the trees in front of the Chem Lab
were flooded with their particular greens. Tree tops were a series of loops
and squiggles. Now they're filled in along with the lawn. Red-orange maple
leaves were intensified and light grey strokes indicating the reach of bare
maple branches were darkened.

Nana.jpg
This is Kat’s five-on-the-floor little red car. Last evening Kat looked my watercolor of Nana T’s home and she noticed the “robin” bobbin’ cross the street. I like the idea the pigeon’s a robin rather than a pigeon.Sort of like the “red, red robin goes bob, bob, bobbin along,” just a look, look, lookin at Kat’s little red, red car. Nana T’s up in her bedroom window just a check, check, checking out the white haired old lady eating her breakfast just a sit, sit, sittin’ in the little kid’s playground and watch, watch, watching her house and point, point, pointing at it with her fork. It’s me just a pick, pick, picking angles, dangles, and bangles on her home and off her porch. I use my paint brush, hold it out in front of me to line up an angle, like the bottom of the bay, and bring the angle down onto the painting. While I was doing this who do you think I saw peek, peek, peeking out her window ?
